Hello parents, the trip here was really good. There was a lot of missionaries on our flight from Salt Lake. There was only 2 other sisters on my flight from Boise. I haven't gotten to meet my companion yet. All i know is his name is Elder White. Other than that, things are pretty good. We just had dinner and it was alright. I don't have a lot of time, but my p-day is on Thursday so I won't be e-mailing until next Thursday since we don't get p-day the first week. Anyways, love you guys. Have fun and I'll talk to you next week.

Blessings in SoCal

One of the last family vacations before I embarked on my mission: Re-visit Six Flags and Disneyland. On Wednesday, Aug. 5 we flew to LAX and as we were picking up the rental car, my stomach started to feel some pain. Thought I was just hungry so we ate lunch and I started feeling really sick to my stomach. Drove to Valencia from LA to a hotel by Six Flags.  We planned to go straight to the rides at the park and the following day drive to Disneyland and spend couple of days there.

Heavenly Father had a different plan for us. After skipping Six Flags, we decided to just stay in the hotel for me to get some rest and I didn't feel like going on rides anyway. Early the following morning, the pain in my stomach was getting worse. We decided to go to the nearest medical center to get a diagnosis. Come to find out, my appendix was slowly in the process of bursting. Right there and then the doctors recommended surgery. The "California Adventure" then started.

From Valencia medical clinic, we drove to a hospital in Mission Hills to have my appendix removed. It was a half hour drive. Surgery started 6:00 pm and it was supposed to be an out-patient surgery. But the surgeon felt that I should stay overnight at the hospital. The next day, once I was released,we drove again to our reserved hotel in Anaheim in front of Disneyland. We got there early evening and all I wanted to do is rest in bed and recover. It was nice to just sleep, eat and watch Disneyland from the hotel window.

Six Flags and Disneyland would've been fun but what a blessing it is for Heavenly Father to watch over me and provide a way that I can have my appendix taken care of before entering the Mexico MTC. The Lord indeed prepares a way for His future servants to be ready and prepared before serving the vineyard. As a family, we are so thankful that it all happened couple of weeks before I reported to the MTC with my parents by my side while I recovered. Mickey Mouse through the hotel window was also a plus.

didn't really feel like having fun but good to be out of the hospital and hotel room
